What is the Buzz Learning Academy?
The Buzz Learning Academy is more than just an afterschool program—it’s a ministry-driven mission of Jewel City Church, designed to meet the needs of elementary and middle school students in our community. Housed at the new Buzz Henderson Center, the Academy is now accepting registrations for the 2025-2026 school year.
Our Vision
What began as a response to the needs we saw during our annual Vacation Bible School has grown into a year-round outreach designed to support students academically, emotionally, and spiritually. The Buzz Learning Academy serves K–8 students with purpose and care, offering far more than supervision—it’s a place of belonging, growth, and encouragement.
Our program runs immediately after the school day, providing:
A Complete Dinner – Because no child should go home hungry.
Homework Help – Dedicated support to build confidence and improve school performance.
Faith-Based Character Lessons – Rooted in biblical values, focused on integrity, kindness, and respect.
Fun & Meaningful Enrichment – Including STEM, arts, sports, patriotism, and more.

Buzz Learning Academy is made possible through the generosity of donors and the support of our community. We are funded through a combination of:

Fundraising events
Facility rentals & memberships
Program fees for classes hosted at the Buzz Henderson Center
Tuition fees
Because we believe every child deserves access, we do not rely on government subsidies—and we offer scholarships for families in need.
